Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what information Pastpip ("Pastpip," "we," "us") collects when you use our trading journal and analytics platform, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using Pastpip, you agree to the collection and use of information as described here.

1. Information We Collect

Account information. When you register, we collect your username, email address (optional), full name, and a password (stored as a one-way bcrypt hash — we never store or have access to your plain-text password).

Trading and journal data. Trade entries you log manually or that sync automatically from the PastpipEAPro/PastpipEAElite Expert Advisors, or from PastpipTradeSyncer (a sync-only tool that works alongside any trading strategy, not just Pastpip's own) — including symbol, direction, entry/exit price, size, stop loss/take profit, P&L, strategy tags, screenshots, notes, and trading account details (name, broker, balance) you choose to add. This also includes daily journal entries, strategies, zone setups, prop firm challenge records, and any other content you create within the app.

Usage and device information. IP address and user agent are logged for security purposes (e.g. rate limiting, admin audit logs) but are not permanently retained as a profile tied to your browsing activity.

Cookies and local storage. We use a single session cookie (HTTP-only, not readable by JavaScript) to keep you signed in. Your browser's local storage is used only for on-device UI preferences — your selected trading account and light/dark theme — and is never transmitted to us or any third party.

We do not use advertising trackers, analytics pixels, or any third-party marketing scripts on this site.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To operate your account and provide the core journaling, analytics, and auto-sync features.
• To send transactional emails you'd expect from a trading journal — email verification, password resets, and (if you opt in) weekly performance digests, drawdown alerts, and prop-challenge alerts.
• To generate AI-powered analysis (Pro/Elite/Exclusive tiers), where aggregated, de-identified performance statistics — win rate, average P&L, risk/reward, and emotion-tag summaries — are sent to our AI provider (Anthropic) to produce written feedback. Your raw trade notes and screenshots are not included in this request.
• To detect and prevent abuse, enforce rate limits, and maintain the security of the platform.
• To provide customer support when you contact us.

3. Sharing Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only in these circumstances:

• Service providers. We use a third-party SMTP provider to deliver transactional email, and Anthropic to power the optional AI Analysis feature, as described above. We also use Sentry for error monitoring, which may capture technical request details (such as IP address) when the application encounters an error.
• Other Pastpip users, where you choose to share. If you opt in to the public Leaderboard, your username, avatar, and performance stats become visible to other logged-in users. If you use Trade Copier as a master trader, your live open-position data (not your full trade journal) is shared only with followers you've explicitly approved. Messages you post in Community chat are visible to all logged-in users.
• Support and account recovery. Our support staff can view your account to help resolve issues you raise. In limited cases, a senior administrator can access your account directly (impersonation) solely to diagnose a reported problem — every such access is logged with the staff member's identity, your account, a timestamp, and their IP address.
• Legal requirements. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Pastpip, our users, or the public.

Pastpip does not process payments and has no payment processor integration — we do not collect or store any billing or card information.

4. Data Retention and Deletion

You can permanently delete your account at any time from Profile → Security, after re-confirming your password. Deleting your account permanently removes your trades, journal entries, strategies, lessons, zone setups, prop challenge records, trading accounts, copier connections, and support history. Messages you've posted in Community chat may remain visible (attributed to a removed account) since chat is a shared space, not personal storage.

5. Your Choices

• You can opt in or out of the Leaderboard, marketing/digest emails, and AI Analysis at any time from your Profile settings.
• You can request a copy of your data or ask us to correct inaccurate information by contacting us (see below).
• You can enable two-factor authentication for additional account security from Profile → Security.

6. Children's Privacy

Pastpip is not directed at and not intended for use by anyone under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect information from minors.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
